  • Randy Julius Stars at Prime Rib Dinner

WRGC's sixth annual Prime Rib Dinner was a great success due, in large part, to Randy Julius and his gift of story-telling. This year's meal began with pan-seared scallops served on a bed of polenta and finished with cheesecake & strawberry coulis. In between these courses were some of the best food and wine ever served at the WRGC. "This was the most successful dinner in our six years. I didn't thing that we would sell out this year but we sold the final ticket on the morning of the event and exceeded all our expectations." said event chairman Roland Murphy. The club wishes to thank Randy Julius, Brian Bump and the 'chefs pour la nuit' - Brad Morse and George Barrett - for their creations. Also pitching in were Mark & Martha St. Germaine, Elmer St. Germaine, Don & Judy Sullivan, Sam & Sarah Corbitt, Mac & Chris White, Teresa Tello, Gene & Cheryl Femino and Ryan Sullivan.

  • Outdoor Ranges Shut Down

The WRGC Outdoor Ranges have been shut down temporarily for required maintenance. Until further notice, shooting of any kind on the Outdoor Range facility is strictly prohibited.

  • Texas Hold'em Tourney Success

We never knew it but WRGC has one of the world's best poker players in its membership.

Mark "No Hand is Too Bad to Chase" St. Germaine walked away from the last table as two-time champion in the Saturday evening tournament. John Westgate, Randy Parker, Edgar Martin and their committee raised pennies shy of $500 profit from the evening's event with proceeds being used to bolster the WRGC Scholarship Fund. (George Barrett tended bar which also made a good little profit!)

Thank you to all volunteers, members and guests who graced us with their presence!

  • WRGC Awards Bids

The WRGC Board of Trustees awarded two bids at their December meeting. The bid for Snow Plowing was won by Roy Sylvia while the bid for WRGC Janitor was won once again by Bob Allen.

  • Board of Trustees Recommends Its Dissolution

The membership will consider by-law changes requested by the Board of Trustees that will result in dissolving that Board. The functions of maintenance, security and scheduling normally performed by the Trustees will be assigned to members of the Board of Directors by the sitting President. The proposed changes remove By-Law section IV.F in its entirety and replace all other references to the “Board of Trustees” within the By-Laws with the “Board of Directors”.   The changes will be considered by the membership at the November meeting.

Update: Due to the length of the 2010 Annual Meeting, action on this motion was placed on the table. The Membership will consider this motion at a later date following current rules for proper notice.
